More than a fourth of US hospitals now offer inpatient and outpatient complementary therapies, and almost three-fourths of the American population uses these therapies on an occasional or regular basis. Specifically for healthcare practitioners, this lecture examines the five major types of complementary and alternative therapies, why patients use complementary therapies, how healthcare institutions are responding to increasing patient requests for these therapies to support their medical care, the easiest complementary therapies for you to learn and use with patients yourself, how to find qualified practitioners for other therapies, legal and ethical ramifications, and more. Equilibrium director Bernadette Doran, BS, RMT, lectures extensively on integrative medicine and has taught energy therapies to physicians, nurses and other healthcare practitioners in cities throughout the US.
MOVING THROUGH DIVORCE WITH CONSCIOUSNESS AND COMPASSION with Yvonne Hedeker

Divorce is typically a period filled with overwhelming uncertainty, pain and change. This four- month group process is intended for those individuals who are looking for healing and new ways to move through this transition with more intention. Using group discussions, personal sharing, experiential exercises, and various healing modalities (including Holographic Memory Resolution®) we will: Explore the effect of unconscious beliefs and learned behaviors; look at how issues of family of origin impact our present day relationships; discover how to heal and release old wounds; understand the power of subconscious emotions; uncover hidden resources; release blockages to well-being and peace; learn how to allow compassion and forgiveness to transform your life; begin to create the foundation for healthier, more fulfilling intimacy. All registrants will be asked to make a four-month commitment. Each month the group will meet twice for 4 to 5 hours, one Saturday a month at Equilibrium(1 to 4 PM) to share, heal, and experience ourselves in new ways, and one evening a month (7 to 8:30pm) reconnecting with each other via a group conference call.
