Visual Journaling
Visual journaling is a safe, simple way to access the healing powers of the subconscious mind, and explore and express emotions, life experiences, and a rich inner life. No special art skills of any kind are required, and the atmosphere is non-judgmental.
In a relaxed and meditative-like setting, the therapist guides the client to focus on a particular issue, memory or emotion through music, gentle questions, and art processes.
Playing with colored pencils, paint, markers and chalk, the client taps into their intuitive resources and allows expression to flow through color, shapes, lines and images. Bypassing the left-brain need for words and explanations allows pure emotional truth to come forth, as the soul reveals itself in technicolor.
The visual journaling process can prompt deep releases, re-balancing and emotional healing. At the end of a session, the client experiences new levels of self-expression, insight, clarity and confidence. Multiple sessions allow the client to create a visual record of a profound healing journey within a journal format.

Emotional Face Mapping
What would your face look like if your emotions could shape, color and create it?
Emotional Face Mapping is a private one-hour session with artist and art therapist, Betty Sitbon. With a musical meditative background and gentle, soul-searching questions, Betty helps you tap into your deepest feelings, in the moment or throughout your life.
As you and Betty explore your personality, moods, and emotions, she paints
them in abstract designs on your face. The revealing and highly evocative results
are often profound, the experience joyful. The results of the one-hour inner-to-outer
journey are captured in a digital photo portrait.

There are two paths to allowing art to heal us. With the first path, as psychologist Carl Jung discovered, we can create images that lead us to deeper, hidden truths. That’s what Visual Journaling appointments and classes are all about.
With the second path, healing art that others create can produce profound physical and emotional effects. Studies done by the healthcare industry show that healing art have measurable effects on blood pressure, heart rate, and other responses. Patients who have healing art in their rooms respond by needing fewer medications and having shorter hospital stays.
Please visit the Energy Emporium for an ever-changing range of beautiful, relaxation-inducing healing art, including works by artists Betty Sitbon, Elizabeth de Vries, and Michel Latendress.
